Ishan joined the Investment Team at Athera after ~7 years of experience across strategy consulting, operations, and project management.
Experience
Prior to Athera, Ishan was a Senior Consultant at Bain & Company. During his tenure at Bain, he worked on C-suite objectives across both strategy definition and implementation – spanning problems of growth (where to play and how to win), product, channels, CX, margins, and post-merger integrations. Most of this was in the areas of Consumer Tech, Consumer Products, Retail, and Digital Insurgents, working with market-leaders across categories. Prior to Bain, Ishan was in a Project Management role in the Energy sector at Technip, focused on delivering large-scale, turnkey refinery, hydrogen and LNG projects ($10M to 120M+). In this operations-heavy role with an acute risk profile, Ishan gained experience working with large, cross-functional teams of 100+, and juggling tech, engineering, procurement, construction, finance, risk, and legal oversight. Ishan has also served short but very fulfilling stints in Fashion retail with ABFRL, in Power with NTPC, and in Advanced Manufacturing with BHEL and Technip. These remain areas of keen interest.
Education
Ishan holds an MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, where he was an Aditya Birla Scholar and on the Director’s Merit List. He also holds a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur.
